This keeps the price point down so lower-level designers can have access to awesome image-editing software. For a more intense user, going the Adobe Creative Suite route might be a better option.

Still the best. I have tried every other photo editing tool available. Photoshop is the only software that still allows me to do everything I imagine in my head. Other photo editing software start making mistakes easy after the initial learning curve. Basically when I first started using Photoshop I didn’t care about speed and features, I just wanted to learn about all the tools available and use them. I’ve since built up a small collection of Photoshop programs I’ve used for years to include the effects applied to the image below. I try to stick to the ‘rule’ that I only use the features in Photoshop that I want to use to apply to the image I’m working on. If I’m doing a photography shoot or a portrait shoot where I want to use something like the background processor, I still turn off the Background Process, but use the features offered to me to warp the background behind the subject. By using Photoshop the way I do, I only have to use Photoshop instead of having to turn on a bunch of different plug-ins.

There are only a handful of plug-ins that I use:

-The Adobe Camera Raw Plug-in [Basic, Color, Advanced, Tonal, Local, Dynamic, Lens Correction, Blemish, Graduated, Black & White, Recovery, Sharpen]. Includes sharpen, black & white, and recovery. Also includes advanced color, lens correction, and gradated adjustments.

I use a lot of Photoshop’s feature like the Lightroom Collection Plug-in more as a collection of tasks rather than a plug-in.
