Most designers these days work with both Photoshop and Lightroom. Starting out with Lightroom is very much like starting in your car and learning to drive. But seriously, I think you’ll quickly appreciate the ability to be able to see the big picture when working from Lightroom and understand how things work together, unlike when you first saw elements on a computer screen without those understanding the way they work with text and other elements.

The fact remains that if you’re just starting out and don’t have a huge roster of files to process, Photoshop is the way to go. It’s simpler to use, it’s the silver bullet of graphic design. However, Adobe Lightroom is a more powerful platform that you can use to face overwhelming tasks. It’s the second my choice if you own a larger quantity of photos.

Honestly, this is not just a Photoshop vs Lightroom topic. This is a process of finding the software that fits your workflow best.
