I am writing this review to tell you a little bit about my experience and to encourage you to upgrade to a newer version of the program. I was impressed by the new features in CS6 and it was not long before I had downloaded my copy. If you are using the DNG workflow, you should be able to find a solution if you are having a problem with the new tools.

I am interested in finding out more about the new features in CS6, and of course if this is what you are using, would you recommend maintaining your own backup server? Or are you happy with CS6 having the cloud backup functionality, and therefore making it more difficult to restore backups locally?

Hi Rebecca – I think you’ve hit on some of the same points I have when reviewing CS6. The enhancements are quite impressive, but often not in the ways you’ll be interested in. I’m a big Lightroom user, so I want Photos to be fast; unfortunately, Photos are pretty slow, just like you. The developers are working on it. I haven’t taken the plunge to using the cloud, I like to backup to a USB drive on my system (fireWire adapter) and then print. Your mileage may vary, though, as I am sure this system won’t work for everyone.
