I have to confess that I am rather surprised that, one year after the Photoshop CS6 release, Adobe does not implement any significant new features in Photoshop. To make up for this, there are a lot of different user interface changes (for example, the Tools and Libraries groupings are also gone). As much as I like certain design elements, I think these changes are quite unnecessary and even counter productive. I have also noticed an indefinable decline in the overall performance of the application, and this comes with the new user experiences.

Starting with the canvas and each individual layer, you start with a blank canvas on the left, and using your mouse, right-click and choose New Layer, and you’ll add a new layer, which is the only available option available. You can then add, move, group, rename, and delete layers to your heart’s content.

You can use your standard RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color model when you’re working within Photoshop, just be aware that this model has a limited tolerance for the copy-paste function of your mouse and physically on the screen and significantly less accurate than the CMYK or HDR color models.

When you right-click and choose Paste Into, you paste the image to a new location or a different layer. If you want to copy an image, simply right-click and choose Copy,. This works for moving, grouping and fonts as well.
